Skins are purely cosmetic overlays for armor. They provide no extra benefits or functions.
Unlike Ark: Survival Evolved, Skins are outfitted in the costume area of the inventory:
- Open your Inventory with I.
- At the top left of the central Character information panel, select Costume.
- Drag the Skin from your inventory into the appropriate slot.
Crafting Skins is limited both by the rarity of the drop of the special item required for the skin, and a less-troublesome level requirement to create the machine to craft the skin, for example, the Tailor's Workbench.
